The White Sox are Flat: Flirting with .500 Ball

The Chicago White Sox, my second favorite team, since the early 1990s, was predicted to be really good this season, 2022. I was hoping, as many thought, that they would win their division and be ahead of many other division and AL rivals, like Minnesota and Cleveland.

Injuries have taken a toll; they have experimented with different players, most recently with a short stop named Sosa. I do not know much about him. Pollock was a new acquisition since last year, but he has been okay. Only ok. Not as promising as hoped. Eloy Jimenez has been mixed since returning from the DL (disabled list? is this not the term anymore? since 2005 or whatever...). Luis Robert and Tim Anderson, Joan Moncada, all them. Not having their greatest years.

The pitching has been up and down, too. Lance Lynn has not done enough, as some relievers have been disappointing too.

We shall see. The Pale Hose trail Cleveland (Guardians!) by three games and Minnesota by 1.5. And the Sox are about to be beaten, again, by the lowly Royals.

.500 this late in the season, now mid-August, seems to be a losing ticket.

    Veremos.
