Embrace the Suck. Dealing With Army Setbacks or Lies. Soldiering On.
Since being in the U.S. Army, part time as I have participated, one mantra or motto is to "embrace the suck." Sometimes we have to do things that are hard and put us in danger, or simply uncomfortble and frustrating. It happens. We sign up knowing this.
However, some blows are harder to accept, when it seems like individuals or the system has betrayed us, the ones who have tried to live up to the mission and ideals of the miltary that we serve. It happens. Perhaps too much. All is not fair. War is the primary test that is the ultimate arbiter of what may happen to soldiers, marines, seamen, airmen, coasties and guardians. But there is more time of preparation and peace. We put forth efforts in preparation in times of peace...
