Baseball Be Crazy. The Night Started Good! But not by the last innings...
I was going to write this last night. It was Friday. Jimmy Kimmel and his guests got me distracted. With nine games remaing, on this said Friday night, the White Sox were ahead of the Tigers 8-2 after about 3 or 4 innings, and the A's were up on the Guardians 3-0 after about three. What could go wrong?
Tigers come back, baffingly, 11-8. The Cleveland Guardians rally and beat the A's 5-3.
So, what looked like a coasting win for the Pale Hose and maybe a loss for the tied Guardians, goes upside down and sideways.
Cleveland is ahead a game. Eight to go.
As I write, the White Sox are tied with the Tigers on Saturday, 1 to 1 in the 5th. Cleveland? Let's see... They play in another couple hours. The Tigers can score. The Athletics? Anything can happen.
Let's hope it happens today.
Sox go up 2-1 in the 6th! Antonacci with a scarifice fly. More later.
