Quest for Nine: 2026
Before the opening game with Notre Dame, a pretty good ACC opponent and rival from South Bend came to Bloomington, I was dreaming nostalgically when the Indiana's mens team used to win national championships regularly. However, it has been a drought of 14 years now.
That is not normal for me. To Coach Todd Yeagley's credit, they have made it to the championship game about five times since then. But they have lost every one. To Marshall, to Stanford, to someone else. You name it.
We sit at eight, straight, crowned victories.
For way too long.
Then Indiana scored fast, and for soccer, often, on Notre Dame. Winning 3-1. Oliver Moller-Jensen scored twice. And a guy named Eaton something scored, too. Oduro and Njike were out. They are supposed to be some of the best scorers.
So, the defense was superb, and the offense stood up and did stuff.
Who knows? Maybe all these transfer guys will work out?
Let's go. IU 2026.
Number nine might be ours.
