Special Forces - Every Government and Group Has One
The United States is as powerful in 2023 as any country has ever been. There are some that think that we (I am part of it) are much more vulnerable or susceptible to defeat or threat than we think, but I am reasonably confident that the U.S. is the most feared and militarily and economically assured nation in the present, and therefore of all time.
The military uses special forces in order to accomplish its most serious missions and daring operations. Like any large group or collective of people that wishes to effectively accomplish their missions or goals, it needs specially trained and dedicated groups and individuals to do those tasks, more so than the average or common member of the group or greater unit.
Some people argue that the U.S. Special Forces from the Army, Navy, Marines (and maybe Air Force) can do most of the hard work that the overall military needs to get done. That may be so, but all of the people are required to make the overall effort doable. We need all the specialists, whether for combat, of course, but for all the other support that militaries provide.
Religious groups have their respective "special forces"; part of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' people of this sort are the young missionaries called to spread the faith worldwide, in every corner possible. To go and do things that are not possible by the normal membership.
We have apostles and specially called leaders, too, but the youth are the ones really getting the special tasks done.
Make sense?
It does to me.
