God's Warriors. Who Are They? How do they Battle?
A man who I knew, somewhat peripherally but who influenced my life in some major ways, died this past Monday, the 7th. (My mom's birthday, who passed in 2014). Was it only this past week, the beginning of this otherwise inauspicious week, when some of us are working and others are preparing to work.
Others get to play.
He was warrior for God, in my way of seeing it. He lived in the United States, he had a happy marriage and life, he had and raised many children who have gone on to have more children, and he left them all in a better place. I do not know his age. Maybe 70? 75? More? Perhaps he made it to his 80s.
Ahh, the man of God and peace. May we all be as such.
As a young teen in the 1980s I rooted for the mujahidin of Afghanistan. They were holy warriors then. Some celebrate Ahmad Shah Massoud. The Lion of the North. Died in 2001, September, fighting the extremists. The Taliban now in power.
Who are the holy warriors? Who fight and struggle for peace?
Enough on that.
