I Have Done the Never Been Done: I Bought Six College Football Magazines. Summer. 2026 Part III

    The last two predictions by the so-called experts. Big money, big hopes, big chances. The first four have IU, Notre Dame twice, and OSU.

    Next we look at ESPN and Lindy's Sports. 

    ESPN, which stands for Everything Sports Network? They pick: #6 Notre Dame over # 9 Oregon. Which is the same as the former two, as reported, but even higher seeds. IU? According to the most popular sports network in the United States, and their sports analysts, they have Indiana as: # 1. 

    But THEN, Oregon ("revenge!") seeded 9, who got past # 8 Miami (of Florida). Oklahoma State is in there as #11, and Hawai'i is #12, with the University of Southern California as a rather high #5. BYU? Not there. Ranked 11 in the pre-season poll, but edged out of the CFP. Not included in the final 12.

    Not the school with a formidable but less recognized Quorum of Twelve. As in, Jesus' Chosen Witnesses of the Latter Days. But I digress.

    Last but not least is Lindy's. They placed my dear, home Indiana, our Indiana at # 5, who promptly loses to # 4 Notre Dame. Yeesh. The Irish may be the bane of IU in the CFP of December, like they were Cignetti's first year in 2024. We. Shall. See.

    Who wins it all in the Lindy's prognostication? #1 Oregon over #2 Texas. Hmmmmm. I do not think so. But we shall see, as noted above. Boise State makes it in there at 12, Texas Tech at 11, and the USC Los Angeles Trojans at 10, with the cast of other normal characters. # 3 Ohio State will eventually lose to # 2 Texas, which will succumb to the Ducks in the aforementioned final that far into 2027.

    Wow, we are really that close to 2027.

    The future is happening. It should come with us or without us. But hopefully with.
