Israel, Israel, God Will Smite You

Israel, Israel, God Will Smite You

Sad, very sad to say and even think it. Israel is committing a lot of war crimes right now, going on five or six months since October 7 of last year. 2023. Seems like a small lifetime ago, and many lives have been snuffed out since. Some in shocking and disgusting ways. Malnutrition, starvation, wanton bombs.

I am in no way condoning or accepting the awful and egregious attacks on Israelis by Hamas and other vicious terrorists. Last year, or over the decades. These are terrible and must end. But, however.

Israel cannot kill the Palestinians remorselessly as they have been doing and expect no further devasting retribution. It will happen. There are too many proud and desperate and fearless Arabs, with a few other ethnic peoples, usually of Muslim background, that will never forget these affronts and offenses.

Very sorry to hear and see and observe. Tragic and heartbreaking. This narrative has been current, ongoing, and biting all my life. Since World War II, when my father was a small child, this has been a problem. The United Nations and thousands of others could not resolve it.

And now we are here, destined for more and more intense privation, pain, and destruction. It is going to happen. Worse than anticipated than before. I do not see peace as the alternative. Not after all this inhuman atrocity.

    It is too much.

In my faith we have a faith-filled hymn that is entitled "Israel, Israel God is Calling". The verses talk and proclaim about the people of Israel, which we believe ourselves to be of the Twelve tribes. Not just Judah and Benjamin, but Ephraim and Manasseh and all the rest, including Levi. There are chosen, covenant people of God. They, we, cannot do this to others. Starve out and terrorize hundreds of thousands.

We are the chosen of God, we believe.

I am sorry Israel, the current state.

A pestilence and curse will continue to be reaped upon your peoples.

Stop it. Be human and humane. Stop the indiscriminate hate and death.
