How Many Prophesies are in Isaiah? Which Have Come True?

How Many Prophesies are in Isaiah? Which Have Come True?

Chapter 1 has some, as well as other 65 chapters.

Consider:
2 Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth: for the Lord hath spoken, I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me. 3 The ox knoweth his owner, and the ass his master’s crib: but Israel doth not know, my people doth not consider.4 Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken the Lord, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they are gone away backward.5 ¶ Why should ye be stricken any more? ye will revolt more and more: the whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint.6 From the sole of the foot even unto the head there is no soundness in it; but wounds, and bruises, and putrifying sores: they have not been closed, neither bound up, neither mollified with ointment.7 Your country is desolate, your cities are burned with fire: your land, strangers devour it in your presence, and it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers.8 And the daughter of Zion is left as a cottage in a vineyard, as a lodge in a garden of cucumbers, as a besieged city.9 Except the Lord of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah.

That is only eight verses in the first chapter, but I see a number of depictions, prophesies, descriptions, from Isaiah that are meant for back then and, possibly applicable 2700 years later. I will list them.

1) The Lord Jehovah has groomed or guided His people, the Israelites, but the people have fought against Him or been disobedient to Him, his prophets, and laws.

2) The Twelve Tribes of Israel, to include Judah and Benjamin, which are the Jewish people today, have not known the Lord well; they have not been considerate of His laws, commands, guidance, nurturing, which is indicative of not following the Prophets, the holy men and priests, which would be Isaiah and others chosen by the Lord.

3) The people of the Lord have become corrupt, committed evil, abandoned the Lord, are full of iniquity (bad or poor actions), have gone backward, and have made the Lord angry.

4) Along with this disobedience of the Lord's chosen, the Israelites will be stricken because of their "revolt", the whole "head" will be sick (the leaders are not well, not healthy or whole), and the heart is not well. Not robust, strong. Set up for being taken captive or destroyed, as it happened a few times.

5) The wounds, bruises, and sores of the people are not cured or are left to go bad. The whole body is not healthy. This can be a spiritual or sociological state as much as a physical one. There is medicine or ointment for these ills, but they are not applied.

6) The country is desolate or barren, the cities are burned, the land is overthrown by strangers and those strangers devour your goods in your presence.

7) The land or country is left abandoned, as a "besieged city".

8) The Lord Jehovah provided a [good] remnant, or portion of good, which prevented them from being like Sodom and Gomorrah. Which means wicked and destroyed.

17 Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow. 18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. 19 If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: 20 But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it. 21 ¶ How is the faithful city become an harlot! it was full of judgment; righteousness lodged in it; but now murderers.

9) Injunction to do good things, seek good judgment, help the oppressed the orphans, and widows.

10) Reason together and repent. If not, they will be beaten or devoured by the sword, or militarily.

12) There are unfaithful people, who do not hold their chastity or vows of purity. Israel has murderers. They used to be good, but now have fallen.
