Indiana's Last Regular Season Opponents

 Indiana's Last Regular Season Opponents

UCLA travels to Indiana, Bloomington, Simon Skojdt Assembly Hall, this Friday at 8 pm. They are good, they have 18-7 record overall, 9-5 in the conference, for 5th overall, ahead of ranked Maryland. The Bruins are not ranked but they were. IU has to play its game. Zone, if needs be, and go to the big fellers inside.

Then, Purdue at home. Payback? There is a big break in between. From the 14th to the...23rd.
The Boilermakers are 19-6, 11-3 in the conference, for second place. We got ripped on a last possession no call in West Lafayette, so... We need this one. With nine days between games, maybe IU's chemistry and maturity get better? I think that they improved a bit from November to January, so... YEAH! Beat the Boilers! Make it a blow out!

IU then hosts the more lowly Penn State Nittany Lions the following Wednesday, the 26th of February. Let's make this month a great finish! Hopefully Carlyle and perhaps Hatton gets some minutes, which means the regular starters and bench are getting theirs. Could we be 19-10 by then?
We beat them in State College, we should be able to sweep at home... SHOULD.

What? Can we? yes, we can. Si, se puede.

Then comes March, before the Big Ten Tourney. IU has had some critical success in the conference tournament with Coach Woody, Mike Woodson. This could be an amazing feel good story.

    Go, HOOSIERS!

The March madness for Indiana begins with:

Hoosiers visiting bottom feeder Washington Huskies in Seattle. Time change, big trave. Probably late Saturday night. Gotta play up, smash with the size and discipline.

Next is a tougher Oregon Ducks squad, on March 4, at 9 pm here, which would mean 6 pm out there on the Left Coast. Oregon has been highly ranked, but have suffered of late. Tough challenge, but who knows? All the pieces may be coming together. Am I way too optimistic based on one solid game on the road?

    YES! We love it.

We host the Ohio State Buckeyes for the close out Senior night on Saturday the 8th of March. The Buckeyes having been playing better lately, so it might be a tight and fun match.

Have the Hoosiers met their pre-season hopes and potential?

Can they reach some kind of traditional (decades past) destiny of playing good or great hoops?

    We may find out. Soon.

Enjoy the rest of winter, may spring bring all things good.

A game well played, a season well spent.
