Feinstein, John. A Life of Letters, Stories, Personalities, and Americana

Feinstein, John. A Life of Letters, Stories, Personalities, and Americana

Sad to see him go so young. He liked golf, I tried to eschew it. But I understand the allure.

    Sports.

It can suck us in; sometimes it feels like it spits us out. It can be our white whale, the Moby Dick that drives or distracts us from more things, like simple survival.

Feinstein combined the two. Good for him.

I am not sure what natural causes took him. I will find out.

But, safe to say, he left a big mark in his 69 years. At 29 he would have come to my hometown, and got inside a legendary college coach, which was more or less the beginning of his great, prolific run.

Quite the writer, quite the story crafter and raconteur.

Pretty amazing. He turned golf into that interpretation of life and the spirit of superation. That is a word that I have borrowed from Spanish that does not exist in our fair language. Yet.

I will get to all this later. In sha' allah.
