Questions for the Next President
I did not vote for him, nor his opponent. I happened to vote for a guy who ran in 2016. I voted for the same guy in 2020; I wrote in his name four years ago and did again yesterday. He comes closer to my vision of what is right and wrong.
But I will serve and respect whomever is in office. I have been collecting a few questions for a while, so here goes.
1. Any public officer who cannot share an example of their taxes and wealth, I have a really hard time trusting, let alone respecting. A person who claims to be very successful and wealthy who cannot show the public voting for them what their value is, and investments, I find suspect. How do I know Donald does not have investments and stakes in Russia? I have asked this question for years. Some people who I work with tell me," There are people in our government who know that." Okay, I respond. Why cannot I be among them, those that know where he may or may not have his money? He wants me to vote for him, but he will not give me one year of fiscal accountability. Only ONE YEAR. For starters. Some say the wealth and ownings are obvious, but I need to be given the dignity of knowing more than the opacity of what has been shared. Especially by a guy who claimed to advantageously claim bankruptcy multiple times.
Nope. Way suspect, my friends. I want to trust anyone. But verify. You want my vote and confidence? Show. Me. The. Money.
2. Mr. President: Are there any things, for the record, that you would say about the military life of John McCain? Some things said in the past do not sit well with me. Could you clear up any of those comments for me, or anyone else who has ever served their country in uniform?
3. Do you think that climate change is happening? Why or why not?
4. In years past, when not a Republican, what were your priorities politically? I am close to 25 years younger than you, but I have been a Republican only two years less, and I joined when 25.
5. (This one since the 1980s): Did you really want to have the USFL compete against the NFL and colleges in football in the fall, instead of playing in the spring?
6. In 2020 where were there any voting aberrations? Where, in what state or district, were there miscounted votes? Both you and your VP-elect Vance are Ivy League educated. Please inform me. I have degrees from state schools and a religious institution. Please explain how this happened, or at least where. Start with one county in Georgia. I am game.
7. Do you feel any responsibility for inciting a mob on January 6, 2021? I do not call it an insurrection, as others name it, but it was ugly, scary, and wrong.
I am not complaining about everything. You have made some proper choices in office. But some of these questions deserve answering. I am blessed and fortunate to live in a country that allows me the freedom and opportunity to ask such things.
We are living in a great country, no denying it. You have a way with connecting with millions, to your credit.
Thank you for the consideration.
