5 ¶ Behold, I will asend you bElijah the prophet cbefore the coming of the dgreat and dreadful eday of the Lord:
6 And he shall aturn the bheart of the cfathers to the dchildren, and the heart of the echildren to their fathers, lest I come and fsmite the gearth with a hcurse.
THE END OF THE PROPHETS*
ThESE are the Last two verses of the OLD TEstament in the holy bible.
"...the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth".
What does it mean, our heart turning to our fathers? What will happen when the Lord would smite the earth if we do not? Is this a one time occurrence? Is this a continual smiting? What do the children of the Lord, (us), have to do to fulfill this promise and prophecy? Do we play a part in fulfilling Bible prophecy?
If the Holy Bible is true, which I believe to be so, and millions or billions of others believe, then these verses must mean something. I believe it means many things.
1. We must remember our kindred dead, and research them. We must know our lines of lineage, our heritage and ancestors. We must know where we come from, and who our "fathers" (and mothers) are. Why? This is part of the Spirit of Elijah, who has the sealing powers of God to bind us as His people forever. We without them cannot be truly whole, complete. We need our whole human family to be connected in order to be truly whole. Complete.
2. Do we know enough of the "whys"? God wants us to account for all His children. We all count. We are the ninety-nine and one. The one represents the lost sheep that we as modern day shepherds must find, and bring back to the fold. We must search for and research for the entire human family. From Europe to Asia, from the Inuit north to the Patagonian south, from the vast reaches of Africa to the scattered isles of the Pacific.
3. We must seek out their names and lives and families, to complete our own. We are not saved without them, and they are not saved nor exalted without us. We are all one people. Black and white, male and female, bond and free. We are not free without all our brothers and sisters. This is part of the Spirit of Elijah.
There is only one Church on earth following this mandate as it is required by the Lord and the Plan of Redemption: the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

We will not be smitten by the Lord, unless we ignore and avoid Him.
All His words, all his mandates.
They are all real.
The Bible is real.
We need to fulfill its promises and prophecies, and understand and do them.
Yes. Preaching to myself.
